--When the Broncos brought in S John Lynch in 2004, he was coming off a neck injury and had just been released by Tampa Bay. They didn't know what they would get from him, but Lynch gave the team four Pro Bowl seasons before retiring.
He had an amicable breakup with the team this year, although he couldn't ultimately catch on with another team after asking for his release. When Lynch officially announced his retirement, the Broncos praised him as a great leader and safety.
"Just everything you'd want in a player," Broncos coach Mike Shanahan said. "He set an example on how to be a pro. It's nice to have had the opportunity to spend a few years with him."
--The Broncos won't take many chances with CB Champ Bailey, who has been out for a month with a groin injury. He practiced a couple of times last week, but coach Mike Shanahan said he would wait until seeing how Bailey practices before making any decisions on his availability.
"He's got to go out there and feel good," Shanahan said.
