--The Broncos are loading up at the tailback position. They signed Darius Walker, who started a pair of games for the Texans in 2007. Walker fell out of favor in Houston last year. He will vie for a third-down role on the Broncos.
Denver also has Knowshon Moreno, Correll Buckhalter, J.J. Arrington, LaMont Jordan and Peyton Hillis at the tailback position.
--Josh McDaniels isn't in a hurry to pick a quarterback and end any controversy. He said he has a lot of evaluation left before deciding if Chris Simms or Kyle Orton would start this season.
"We've got a lot of work and a lot of evaluation to go through," McDaniels said.
--Tight end Shannon Sharpe was voted into the Broncos' ring of fame, the 22nd player to be honored. He will be inducted during a halftime ceremony on Sept. 20 during a game against the Cleveland Browns.
Sharpe, who played 12 seasons with Denver and retired as the all-time leader among tight ends in receptions, yards and receiving touchdowns, was passed over in January in his first time eligible to be elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
--First-year head coach Josh McDaniels is going to demand a lot from his quarterbacks, including everything that happens before the ball is snapped.
A major emphasis for McDaniels during minicamps is having Kyle Orton and Chris Simms, the two quarterbacks vying for the starting spot, control the huddle as directed.
"I know that sounds like a little thing," McDaniels said. "But with what we're doing in our system ... to be able to go out there and get in the huddle and get out of the huddle and run the play and execute it the right way, that's a positive."
