Jan. 4--MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- Coach Bob Stoops said Saturday afternoon that he is not a candidate for the Denver Broncos' head coaching job. A report out of Colorado earlier in the week indicated Broncos owner Pat Bowlen was interested in reaching out to Stoops.
"That's a rumor I haven't heard, and no one's contacted me about that, so I don't know anything about it," Stoops said after the Sooners' second practice for Thursday's national title game against Florida.
Parcells drops by Sooners' practice
MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- Bill Parcells, the former Cowboys coach and current Miami Dolphins vice president of Football operations, checked out OU's practice at Barry University and spoke to the team.
"He's just evaluating our players, I'm sure, but it was great to have him here," OU coach Bob Stoops said. "I've always been a big fan of the way he coaches.
"I just like to have our players see and hear from those kind of guys, and always, he has a great message for them."
